【プロフィール】
ミェチスワフ・コシチェルニャック Mieczyslaw Koscielniak  
1912年ポーランド生まれ。美術アカデミー卒業後、絵画制作に励んでいたが、開設直後のアウシュヴィッツ＝ビルケナウ ナチス・ドイツの強制絶滅収容所（1940 年─1945 年）へ送られた。日常的な暴虐と殺戮の事実を伝えなければと、解放後もずっと真実を描き続け、初代アウシュビッツ博物館館長を務め、'93年に没。
